SHAREHOLDER
John T. LaVia, III
Mr. LaVia is a shareholder of the firm. He has over 29 years of experience practicing in the areas of environmental law; utility and energy law; and administrative law. He also has experience in election law. Mr. LaVia has represented a wide array of public and private clients in cases involving environmental permitting, remediation of environmental conditions, regulatory enforcement proceedings, and agency rulemaking. He also has experience representing public and private clients on a variety of utility regulatory matters before the Florida Public Service Commission. In addition, he has represented clients in election contests under the Florida Election Code and before the Florida Elections Commission.
Mr. LaVia is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Prior to joining the firm he was a partner at Young van Assenderp from 2006-2011, and a partner at Landers & Parsons from (1994-2005). Before attending law school, Mr. LaVia worked as an analytical environmental chemist for Environmental Science and Engineering, Inc. (1984-1987) and as a new products development chemist for Georgia Kaolin Company, Inc. (1983-1984).
